Entebbe, Uganda
15 Days Detailed Uganda Safari
Safari Overview
Uganda provides experiences other than the typical Big Five of Africa, such as gorilla trekking, golden monkey trekking, and chimpanzee tracking.
Our journey will begin in Entebbe Town, which is situated along the shores of Lake Victoria, as you head north to Kidepo Valley National Park, one of the least frequented but unquestionably authentic African wilderness national parks in Africa. Certain wildlife species seen in the park are unique to the park and not found in other Ugandan national parks.
Excellent opportunities for seeing wildlife in Kidepo are during game drives in Narus and Kidepo valleys, tucked among rugged mountain peaks and spectacular landscapes. CNN named the park as one of the top national parks in Africa with the most breathtaking scenery.
We shall continue the journey from Kidepo Valley to Murchison Falls National Park, one of the most popular national parks in Uganda with diverse species that includes over 500 species of birds, 51 amphibian species, 144 mammal species, and 51 reptile species.
Murchison Falls National Park is divided by the world’s longest river and most powerful waterfalls, explored during a boat ride.
From Murchison, our adventure will continue to Kibale Forest National Park, one of the last remaining premontane forests on Earth and home to our close relatives, the endangered chimpanzees. This destination will be one of the fascinating highlights of our journey.
With 13 different kinds of primates, Kibale Forest National Park has earned the title of “the world primate capital” and is the best location in Africa for chimpanzee trekking.
There are more than fifty lakes surrounding Kibale, and on the way to Queen Elizabeth National Park, we will hike around some of them. The trip from Kibale will take us via the magnificent Ndali-Kasenda Crater Lake area.
A vast variety of ecosystems may be found in Queen Elizabeth National Park, including rivers, grassy plains, savannah woods, tropical forests, volcanic craters, swamps, and marshes supporting a variety of animals!
We will go on a wildlife viewing excursion to Kasenyi Plains, followed by a boat ride over the Great Kazinga Channel, one of the world’s longest natural water channels and home to a significant number of crocodiles and hippos.
The game drive in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth offers a chance to see the uncommon tree-climbing lions that are only found in two places on Earth.
Trekking with mountain gorillas is one of the most thrilling and uncommon tourism experiences, available in just three countries in the world. Uganda boasts half of the world’s mountain gorilla population and offers the best opportunity to see these human close relatives! This trip offers a chance to see mountain gorillas in the Bwindi or Mgahinga forests.
After spending an hour in the natural environment with mountain gorillas, this is the top highlight of our Ugandan safari. The next day we shall return from Bwindi or Mgahinga NP to Entebbe, and you prepare for your flight back home.

This day will involve an early morning breakfast, a morning game drive, and a journey beyond the park to the rarely visited Mount Morungole Mountains, which are home to the smallest ethnic group in Uganda.
The Ik were driven away when Kidepo was designated as a national park. They were the first people to live in Kidepo Valley and managed to survive as hunter-gatherers. They relocated to the parks outside the plains, but they were forced to go even farther—to the Mount Morungole ranges—after becoming victims of rogue raids by the Karamojong and Turkana people.
Discover more about the Ik history and culture by visiting them while enjoying the breathtaking scenery. We shall return to the park after visiting the IK.
Day 5: Kidepo Valley—Murchison Falls
